Astronomika Flagship Project: eLearning, VILT, Job Aids, Participant and Facilitator Guides

Purpose

Astronomika reached out to our team to create a learning solution to train 150 employees for the AstroCafe in their new plant in Montana. The business need was to develop a compliance training based on OSHA and CDC safe food handling standards using 2 delivery methods. We were given about 5 weeks to complete this project.

The team conducted a thorough needs analysis with the SME to pinpoint the exact needs and expectations. The key goal was to develop and design a learning solution that would educate the new and returning employees of the safe food handling standards in a scenario-based manner so they would be successful in immediately applying their learnings into the field. This would ultimately result in an exceeding expectations score from the OSHA walkthrough.

My role: I collaborated with a team of nine using the ADDIE framework to create the following learning solutions.

 Product

Based on the business needs, constant collaboration with the SMEs, and multiple iterations, we created 2 forms of training for the Astronomika Employees: a Virtual Instructor-led Training (VILT) and an eLearning course. The VILT was supported with a Participant and Facilitator Guide. Job Aids were also created for Astronomika to place in the AstroCafe for the employees to consistently refer to and improve their performance in the field.
